My Quick Guide to Fiber Choices

Welcome! Choosing a fibre can be overwhelming! I get a ton of questions regarding fibre choice and wanted to compile a document with my thoughts on common options! To some degree, fibers can be subjective, one person can love one fibre and someone else can hate it and these are only my opinions below 🙂

Easycare Fibres

I define easycare fibres as machine washable and dryable. Handwashing will extend the life of any fibre, as will washing in cold water, but these fibers can handle a little heat too (recommended machine wash delicate, machine dry on low heat)

Handwash Only Fibres

These fibres below should only be handwashed in cold water with neutral detergent. hot water can damage the fibres and even warm water can break the bonds of the acid dyes used in some of these fibres. Any blend with wool can felt if temperature change and agitation are added. If you have washing concerns, please reach out for instructions!
