I painted my garage in the yard as a giant rainbow last year which is really a point of joy I can see out my loom room window every day . We have 2 kids, a 16 year old who I’ve been stepmom to since 6mo and we have part time and our 9 year old daughter. Our entire household has been officially ADHD diagnosed and we try our best to build our lives in the way that works best for us! My partner has a disability and is awaiting surgery and we homeschool so we’re all here together ALL THE TIME and it was an adjustment but it’s pretty awesome. We have 4 cats, 2 dogs and a saltwater reef aquarium!

 

I’ve been weaving since my daughter was 1 and we needed to babywear to survive. I’d purchased a couple of machine woven wraps, but I had no feedback and no access to handwovens because we were low income. I remember the first hand dyed wrap I saw and I almost fell over it was so beautiful. One day I decided to look up looms and found a very rough 4 shaft loom for $300 and that was it! I was setting a trajectory I had no idea would get to where I am now! 6 years since I started selling and so many meters of fabric later and I love what I do so much. I love working with each and every semi custom I’ve done, the collaborative aspect of customs is my absolute favourite. Maybe some people find my level of communication annoying but I like to go thru all the info and make sure we’re working as a cohesive team before proceeding, even when things don’t go to plan! I’m so thankful to keep doing what I do, for however long it continues.
